As the girls are busy perfecting their choreography and speeches and preparing for their final looks - making sure not a single hair is out of place - we catch up with a few of them one last time for their final thoughts and to get a glimpse into their mindset ahead of the big finale. Not too sure why, but with literally less than 2 hours until the live finale, this reporter feels even more anxious than the girls!
We are minutes hours away from the live finals. How are you feeling right now?
Egypt: I am so excited but also bit anxious. It is the first time I am going on an international stage and I hope for the best!Philippines: I am just so excited. I can’t wait for the announcement of the Top 25 and the Beauty with a Purpose winner!
South Africa: We have been working so hard towards this day. Ever since we have been crowned in our national events, everything has been building up towards these last moments and I want nothing more than to do South Africa proud and do my best up on there on the Miss World stage.
Gibraltar: I am so excited to see Kaiane, Gibraltar’s first Miss World, today! It is so amazing how much she has done for our country and knowing that she is here is giving me such a boost of confidence and pride. This moment is bittersweet as even though I am so excited, I know this is one of the last moments the girls can be all together as a group and I know it has only been a few weeks but I am definitely going to miss these friendships I have built.
Do you have any words for your fans and supporters- many of whom will be watching and cheering you live from ExCeL today?
Thailand: I would like to say a big thank you to all my fans for your support. I have been personally reading each of your messages and I hope to do you proud today. Even if I do not meet your expectations, just know how much I love you and everyone in my country for giving me this opportunity. I will do my best to win it for Thailand!Canada: I just want to say thank you so so much! I would not be here without all of your support and your help! Thank you for helping me to achieve my dreams.
And lastly, do you have any words of advice to your fellow candidates?
Croatia: Girls, my one piece of advice is that a smile can open any door!Tanzania: It has been such an amazing experience to meet all of you and I have truly had some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve had cultural exchanges in the past but this has been the best. To whoever wins, I wish you the best for your reign and I hope we all keep in touch. I can’t wait to be up there on stage with you guys!
