Regina Spektor has given birth to her first baby and it's a boy, E! reports.The singer announced on her Facebook account that she and her husband, Jack Dishel, are welcoming a baby boy into their family.
"Hi everyone!I wanted to let you know that Jack and I have been
happily hanging out with our new little son and that all is going great!
Thank you for the tons of well wishes and good vibes- we wish them all
right back at ya," the singer wrote.
"As you may have noticed, we're pretty private so we won't be posting
any pictures or updates about him....but we can report that he's super
CUTE!!!" she added.
She announced her pregnancy via Facebook on Thursday,
January 23. "Hi there friends! I was so happy to be nominated for my
first Grammy!" Spektor wrote. "I would have definitely gone to LA for
all the fun, in a party dress and with bells on, if I wasn't super
pregnant at the moment. (!!!!!!!!!!).
Jack and I are very excited to be
expecting a brand new human together!!!"
She continued,
"I've been spending most of my time writing songs, dreaming up the new
record, cooking soup, eating soup, and being very grateful for the
people in my life- family, friends, and you... So I'm glad to share the
news, and I wish everyone who is going to the Grammys an amazing night!
Thank you to the Grammy peeps for nominating 'You've Got Time'! I'll see
you from the couch."
Because of her pregnancy, she was not able to attend the 2014 Grammy Awards.
Spektor
was nominated for the Best Song Written for Visual Media award for her
song, "You've Got Time." The song was featured as the theme for the
Netflix series, "Orange is the New Black."
